Due to continued growth Westend Glass and Glazing have opened a new purpose built factory at
Cairnrobin, Marywell, Aberdeen to service its expanding customer base.
At our new factory we have unrivalled capacity in the North East to make sure our existing customers and new customers know that we can undertake all of their glass requirements.
The toughening furnace with its 1500 × 3000mm bed size gives us the capacity to manufacture all standard units up to 1500mm x 3000mm. Having the toughening furnace allows us to do our own toughening eliminating the need to procure toughened glass from other areas. This ensures we meet the requirements of our glazing department and the needs of our customers, offering shorter lead times so the end user does not have the usual lengthy time to wait for the glass to arrive.
We have installed a new waterjet cutter giving us the capacity to now do a far greater variety of processing work including shaped work such as balustrades, cut outs for patch fittings to install frameless glass doors, some shaped polishing and the cutting of thicker glass including Fire Glass and socket cut outs in glass splashbacks.
Our spray booth allows us to paint the glass after it has been processed and toughened to the customers’ requirements with an even amount of paint being applied to the glass giving a clean precise finish to the glass.
Our new straight line polishing machine is state of the art, allowing us to polish glass more efficiently. We can polish glass up to and including 12mm.
All the above complement our existing machinery including our sandblaster which sandblasts designs on to the glass, chosen from our range or bespoke to your design.
